We convey our 2018 New Year Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Every year the Lord is blessing us with the Promise Verse.
This Promise Verse would be useful not only for us but to our family also. It would help us to discern how the New Year would be in our life.
Last year we faced many difficulties, diseases, afflictions, weaknesses and finance problems. But the Lord sustained us and helped us to overcome all these problems and has done great things in our midst. Let us join together and thank Him with a grateful heart.
The Promise of God in this New Year
Psalm 37:19 – “They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied”
In this Promise of God, miracles, warnings and many things are hidden.
Lord says, in this New Year evil will come. But the Lord shall protect you from all the evils and you shall not be ashamed as you believe in Him.
Likewise, there will be famine in your life but He will satisfy you with all the provisions.
We are living in these last days. These are not only the last days but these are the days of evil. The whole world, situations, nature, countries and the human beings are preparing for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ who is coming very soon. In several places you can see the dangers are happening.
You will hear the news of wars, dangers, pestilences, accidents and catastrophes. Lord Jesus Christ told to his disciples, “For the there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew.24:21).
The Lord has told that there will be great tribulation such as has not been since the beginning of the world. But what is the Promise of God in this New Year? You shall not be ashamed in the evil time.
“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place.
No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.” (Psalm.91:7-11)
According to the above verses, the Lord shall protect you and a single hair from your head will not fall.
I have passed through dangers, diseases and met face to face the life threatening accidents several times.
I used to ride two wheeler (motorcycle) with great speed. One day after finishing the village ministry, myself and Bro. Selvaraj who was working in our office were returning in my Bullet motorcycle. I was riding the motorcycle in great speed.
Suddenly, I found a stationary lorry under repair in front of me. When I tried to stop the motorcycle by applying brake, to my great dismay I found that the brake was cut off. If I try to turn the vehicle, we will be thrown out. If I go forward, the vehicle will collide against the vehicle. In these circumstances, the Lord helped us to go forward safely without colliding against the lorry. As the lorry was stationary in the middle of the road, there was no possibility to go forward through either side.
I uttered ‘Jesus’ and closed my eyes tightly. I was astonished that the vehicle has not yet collided with the lorry. When I opened my eyes slowly, I found myself ahead of the lorry. It was a great miracle in my life.
When the devil brought forth a great danger without any way to escape, I think the Lord’s angels lifted me, my pillion rider and the vehicle and placed it before the stationary lorry. The Bible verse that “His angels shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone” is a true one.
Dear child of God, in this New Year you may be afflicted by disease or problems due to circumstances. Even if you are affected by human beings or devil or natural calamity, you will not be ashamed.
Once when the Lord decided to destroy a city, He thought about saving a family.
The Lord sent His holy angels to that house and they held Lot’s hand, his wife’s hand and the hands of his two daughters and brought them outside the city (Genesis.19:16).
This happened to Lot during the days of Abraham. Likewise, God has ordered to His angels to take charge over you and to keep you in all your ways. It is true that the Lord has protected you until now. But the future dangers and the catastrophes you may face will be terrible. But God is most powerful than all these dangers. The Lord whom we worship is a mighty and awesome God. The Lord will surely save you and you will not be ashamed.
Next, the Bible says, “In the days of famine they shall be satisfied” (Psalm.37:19). In the coming days, poor people will face terrible famine. It will start from now onwards. Jobless problem will increase very much.
Generally, during the time of famine there will not be rain. The faces of all the people will be blacker. When we see them there will be signs of famine. Until now we have heard and seen only such kind of famine. But the famine in the coming days will be a different one.
In one village or town we could find only very people due to famine.
In one family one person will lead a sumptuous life but another person will be affected by famine.
In the outside appearance there will be no sign of famine. They will appear to lead a sumptuous life. But in their hands or in bank there will be no money. They will be in a dilemma about what to eat for the next time and what to do for the basic needs.
There will be utter famine and no money even to purchase the medicines.
The famine will be so terrible that it will not be possible for them even to educate their children.
There will be a different type of famine and the businessmen will not be able to invest in business and in industries.
But, at the same time, the Lord will protect you from destruction and satisfy you.
The Bible says in Genesis.26:1, there was a great famine during the days of Isaac. There was no water, no food and no income to live.
But the ways of God are very wonderful.
During that time only, the Lord decided to bless Isaac. Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold.
“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him.
The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous” (Genesis 26:12,13)
During the time of famine, the Lord blessed Isaac and he became very prosperous.
In the same manner, in this New Year you need not be perturbed about anything. The Lord will satisfy you with food and all the needs, protect you and guide you. Amen!
